The Irish language took centre stage in Belfast city centre on Saturday at the Spraoi Cois Lao family fun day.
Custom House Square was taken over by an array of workshops, games and entertainment, with the aim of giving families the opportunity to enjoy the Irish language together.
Backed by Belfast City Council and organised by Conradh na Gaeilge and Féile an Phobail, Spraoi Cois Lao is Belfast’s flagship Irish language community event during Seachtain na Gaeilge.
Founded in 1902, Seachtain na Gaeilge is the biggest Irish language festival in Ireland and the world and takes place annually in Ireland and many other countries.
This year’s festival, which began on March 1, will run until St Patrick’s Day on March 17.
